One of Britain’s most famous comedians is coming to Bristol next year.

Jimmy Carr will be performing a live stand-up show at Colston Hall, in Colston Street, at 8pm on February 7.

The London-born comedian rose to fame in 2000 and, after establishing his stand-up career with a sell-out 2003 month-long performance at Edinburgh Fringe Festival, Carr has become hot property in the comedy and TV industry.

He has also been handed a number of awards for his work, including three LAFTA Awards, a Royal Television Society Award, a British Comedy Award and two nominations for Rose D’Or Awards.

He has also been at the helm of a number of Channel 4’s most popular shows: 8 Out Of 10 Cats, 8 Out Of 10 Cats Does Countdown, The Big Fat Quiz Of The Year and most recently Your Face Or Mine?

The material in his new show is likely to be as offensive, unusual and outrageous as we have come to expect from the sharp-tongued comic, but this is what has made him the roaring success he is today.

Carr tours relentlessly, taking only five weeks off between each tour, and has been up against even the bravest of audience members who dare to try and heckle him.

His witty comebacks and dirty one-liners have reduced countless audiences to tears of laughter.

Jimmy’s shows are not for the faint-hearted who are easily offended as his jokes and punch-lines are often slightly below the belt.

His new show, Jimmy Carr: The Best Of, Ultimate, Gold, Greatest Hits Tour, will revisit some of his favourite jokes from the past 17 years of his career along with his new material.

There are a limited number of tickets remaining and they are likely to sell out quickly.

Tickets, priced £29.56, are available at www.colstonhall.org or on 01172 034040.
