Wrington Redhill braved Storm Bert to claim a hard fought 3-0 win over Stockwood Green.
The game began with Jack Hutchings making a decisive run, passing to Luke Weeks, who crossed to Jake Marshman.
Marshman’s shot beat Stockwood's goalkeeper Austin Empson, putting Wrington ahead early on.
10 minutes later, after sustained pressure from Wrington, Marshman assisted Weeks, whose powerful shot went in off the bar.
This ignited a spirited response from Stockwood Green, who enjoyed a good spell of possession.
However, shots from Westerside and Templeman, which threatened Wrington’s goal, were expertly dealt with by Rob Hannah, the home team's goalkeeper.
Despite Stockwood Green's sustained pressure, Wrington Redhill maintained their lead until half-time.
After the break, Wrington Redhill began as they had in the first half.
A mishap by Empson allowed Marshman to set up Cam Milkins, who scored from outside the box, extending Wrington's lead to 3-0.
The remainder of the match saw chances at both ends.
A solid defensive display from Wrington's Backhouse, Harding-James, and Coombs, along with Dan Berry and Josh Oliver in midfield, stifled Stockwood’s response.
With the energy-sapping pitch taking its toll, manager Scott Campbell ensured his team held onto their lead.
Jake Marshman was named Supporters’ Man of the Match for his contributions to all three goals.
Despite the absence of several first-choice players due to injuries, Wrington Redhill showcased their depth and resilience, securing a satisfying victory.
