New starting blocks have been installed at Backwell Swimming Club.
The blocks, which were installed this month, will help improve training and competition for young swimmers in North Somerset.
They were funded by donations from Bristol Airport, Somerset ASA, and The Stanton Quarry Community Fund.
A year of fundraising by club members also contributed to the purchase and installation.
The new equipment will help swimmers train to a higher standard and give them a competitive advantage at club, county, and regional levels.
Not just that, but the blocks were installed in time for the club's annual championships.
They feature the latest technology and design, allowing for better starts and more dynamic training sessions.
Colin Jackson, club chairman at Backwell Swimming Club, said: "We are incredibly grateful to Bristol Airport, Somerset ASA, and Stanton Quarry for their generous sponsorship and belief in our club’s vision.
"This investment will not only benefit our current swimmers but will also provide future generations with the tools they need to succeed in the sport."
Sue Rogers, head coach at Backwell Swimming Club, added: "The partnership between Backwell and its community sponsors, plus the amazing fundraising effort by our club members, is testament to the positive impact that collaboration can have on grassroots sports.
"We are excited to see our swimmers thrive with this new equipment and continue to represent our club with pride in competitions at club, county, and regional level."
