Clevedon Town Women moved to top of the Somerset Women's League Division 3 after a dominant 4-1 win over Congresbury Ladies.
The Seasiders took control early in the match, with Sam Donaldson heading in from a corner delivered by Laura McGlone.
Congresbury missed an early opportunity to take the lead when Tash Mountjoy fired wide, and Clevedon capitalised four minutes later.
Grace Adams cleared a shot off the line for Clevedon, and Kirsty Barrett scored from close range after Congresbury keeper Lisa Hussey couldn't hold onto McGlone's powerful free kick.
McGlone then scored directly from a free kick on the half-hour mark, taking Clevedon to a 3-0 lead.
Donaldson scored her second goal just before half-time, bringing the score to 4-0 at the break.
Congresbury pushed forward in the second half, with Jess Hepburn scoring after a good challenge by Mia Nestor.
Despite Congresbury's dominance in the second half, Clevedon's well-organised defence held firm, denying the home side clear chances.
Donaldson was denied a hat-trick by a good save from the keeper, and the final score remained 4-1.
Next, Clevedon Town Women will face Sporting Weston Vixen’s Women at home on Sunday, September 22 with kick-off scheduled for 2pm.
