Clevedon 2nd XI finished the season in style with one of the biggest upsets when they hosted league leaders Golden Hill.

Great team effort and notable individual performances sent the high-flyers home with a striking 119 run defeat.

Harry Fear and Dan Van Grudgings led the batting charge for the Clevedon line-up, scoring not out 48 and 63 respectively off 52 balls.

Other contributors included John Bachelor with 28 runs, Jack Davey and Charlie Lamprell who scored 26 and 23 each, assisting Clevedon reach a total score of 223 for the loss of 6 wickets.

In response, Golden Hill were bowled out for a Premier League season low of 104.

Jacob Lillington was the pick of the bowlers from the Clevedon side, taking 4 wickets while giving up only 14 runs.

Kian Ware and Mark Bibbing also impressed with 3 and 2 wickets for 16 and 21 runs respectively, while Harry Fear added to his earlier batting glory with a wicket for just 4 runs.

Meanwhile, the Clevedon 1st XI were also in action, venturing down to Ilminster.

Clevedon's total of 228 for the loss of 9 was defended successfully, with Tyler Leaman and Jacob Ward salvaging the situation from a precarious 117 for 6, to guide their team home with 4.2 overs to spare.

Leaman, narrowly missed out on a century, scored an impressive 99 not out off 83 balls, while Ward scored a crucial 43 not out off 56 balls.

While last Friday, a Clevedon XI invitation team, captained by Matt Carpenter, took on the Lords Taverners to kick-off celebrations of the club's 150th anniversary.

Clevedon managed to score 136, falling short of the visitors' 146 total score.

The evening was characterised by friendly rivalry and was deemed a success by the considerable crowd at Dial Hill.
