CLEVEDON Town FC showcased a dominant performance against newly promoted AFC St Austell.

Overcoming challenging weather conditions, they not only held the line but also took aggressive charge of the game from the onset.

Two early threats from Freddie King just outside the box were blocked by the defensive line.

Debutant Harrison Coker made an impact 10 minutes in, setting up Cam Steer whose cross was thwarted by Andrew Collings, the home team's goalkeeper.

However, Sam Beresford missed the follow-up opportunity.

Attempted retaliation from the home side was defused by Callum Kingdon.

Dominance in midfield allowed Glen Hayer to set up Teall, but Oscar Bridgman's shot was blocked.

Soon after, a skilful exchange of passes left Bridgman stymied by Collings.

Their persistent offences bore fruit on the 40-minute mark when King netted a free kick despite Collings getting a hand to the ball.

Right before half-time, an ingenious manoeuvre, aided by back-heels from Beresford and Henry Westlake, provided King with an opportunity to double the lead.

The start of the second half saw St Austell score their first goal of the match through substitute Kyle Marks.

Despite the hiccup, the Seasiders retaliated rapidly, with Bridgman putting in a cross for Coker to score his first goal for the team.

The score was 3-1 at 52 minutes.

Post the hour mark, George King replaced Coker.

The Seasiders' 4-1 lead was secured by Freddie King's hat-trick, further consolidated by Beresford (5-1).

A late lapse allowed Liam Eddy to score for St Austell.

However, failures from Eddy and Neil Slateford to capitalise on chances ensured a final score of AFC St Austell 2, Seasiders 5.
