It was a bad day at the office for Clevedon Town as they bowed out of the FA Cup after a 4-1 crushing away defeat to Amersham Town.

Coming off the back of an impressive performance against Portishead earlier in the week, things could not have started much worse.

The Seasiders found themselves 3-0 down in just 24 minutes.

Despite creating decent opportunities early in the second half, they failed to exert substantial pressure on the hosts.

Clevedon started cautiously, which saw Sid Gueye navigate past James Dunn and force Caleb Selway to clear the ball off the line.

However, Gueye found his moment on the scoresheet when Josh Adeyileka played the ball to him from the right, enabling him to score past Dunn.

Amersham continued to press forward.

Notably, Louis Stead sent a decisive ball through the heart of the Seasiders' defence, allowing Adeyileka once again to round Dunn and score into an open net.

The Seasiders' retaliated with two corners that unfortunately did not amount to anything.

By 24 minutes, Amersham scored once again following confusion in the Seasiders' penalty area.

This allowed Kyle Clifford to deflect a shot that had hit the post, sending the ball into the net.

At just half hour, Clevedon tried to close the floodgates by substituting Elliot Nicholson and Syd Camper for Selway and Glen Hayer.

The start of the second half was far more promising for Clevedon.

Alex Camm's shot was pushed wide by Xavier Comas Leon after Sam Beresford laid off Oscar Bridgman's cross to him.

Later, Comas Leon once again saved Steer's ball into the box for Teall.

The breakthrough finally occurred at 64 minutes when Camm unsettled Clifford to pass to Harrison Kyte who proceeded to score.

As both teams adjusted formations, the game turned stop-start in favour of Amersham.

Clevedon found it difficult to carve out clear chances amidst Amersham's strong defensive play.

Ultimately, Amersham secured their 4-1 victory when substitutes Gurcan Gokman and Jamie Speer combined to net the fourth goal.

Despite two extra time chances for Bridgman, Clevedon failed to find a final consolation.

The game ended with Amersham moving forward to the First Qualifying Round of the FA Cup.
