The draw for the 2024/25 season’s Somerset FA UES Premier County Cup has been released and the competition will see a major North Somerset derby early on.
Portishead Town and Clevedon Town have been drawn against each other in the first round of the cup and will both be looking to win bragging rights as the top team in the area.
Clevedon Town have enjoyed life in the Premier Division of the Jewson Western League for some time and are coming off the back of a successful season which saw them finish fourth, 10 points from top, in a tough division.
Portishead, meanwhile, are enjoying their most successful period of the club’s 112-year history ever.
Posset stormed through Division One of the Western League last year, recording 99 points with a goal difference of +93 and ending the season as champions to gain promotion into the Premier Division.
Elsewhere in the competition, Nailsea and Tickenham FC will be taking on Radstock Town and Weston-super-Mare AFC will be facing Keynsham Town, with all fixtures needing to be fulfilled by the end of October.
