A rugby club has won the Bristol Touch League on its tenth anniversary, a first in its history.
The competitive league, attracting 22 specialist Touch and Union clubs from across the region, saw the Nailsea Touch victoriously navigate the 10-week season to secure a 9-5 win against Hornets in the 1st/2nd playoffs.
Remarkably, the club's 2nd team, Ravens Relics, also clinched victory in the Bowl final, winning 7-2 against a youthful team from The Incredibly Touchables.
The winners included three players from the club's emerging junior section, signifying a bright future for the club.
Following the finals, Club chairman, Joe Swanson said: "I am so proud of the achievements of both teams tonight.
"As a club we strive to be both inclusive and competitive.
"I firmly believe that if we get the club culture right, playing and performance will follow.
"We started a club, and built a squad but it has become a community.
"We all work for each other and everyone has input into how we define and build our success."
The club's 10th anniversary celebration continues with a Touch Festival scheduled for August 10 at Nailsea Rugby Club, featuring a dinner, party and live music.
Always keen to welcome new members, Nailsea Touch is actively recruiting players, particularly women and juniors.
Training sessions are held on Thursdays and Fridays from 7pm, with league matches played on Mondays in Bristol.
The club, with England Touch Association-qualified coaches and referees, attends several National events across the season and boasts player representation at both regional and national levels.
