Clevedon Town's pre-season preparations are in full swing with a hard-fought draw and a 10 goal thriller.

The Seasiders' latest friendly matches resulted in two very different outcomes.

In the first game, Clevedon Town FC romped to victory over Yatton & Cleeve with a 9-1 win.

The highlight of the match was the stellar performance of substitute Owen Punselie who scored a hat trick.

New signing Harrison Kyte and last season’s leading scorer, Sam Beresford, made their first appearances of the season.

Clevedon used the match to experiment with different formations and substitute players.

The team scored four goals in the first half of the game with triallist Jordan Clapp, Brad Probert, James Tait, and Elliot Nicholson contributing to the tally.

Punselie added the fifth goal in the second half.

Despite Yatton managing to score, Punselie retaliated with two more goals, topping off the 9-1 win.

In their following match, Clevedon faced a stern test against Hallen, resulting in a 1-1 draw.

The match proved to be a tighter affair.

Hallen secured an early lead with a strike from Will Bolshaw, who broke through the Clevedon line to shoot across keeper Dunn into the far corner.

Just before halftime, however, Clevedon fought back to equalise thanks to a precise finish from Joe Teall.

Despite further chances created by Oscar Bridgman and potential threats from Sam Beresford and Alex Camm, the score remained locked at 1-1.

A commendable performance from skipper Syd Camper, standing out in a slightly readjusted team line up with a back three formation in the second half, saw Clevedon secure a draw in this highly competitive pre-season match.

A slip-up by Clevedon's keeper Dunn almost cost them the game, but Hallen was unable to capitalize, sending the ball wide of an open goal.

With these fixtures behind them, Clevedon Town now sets its sights on its next match against Dobwalls FC in Cornwall.

Their recent performances have given the team a taste of both the euphoria of a landslide victory and the strength needed to hold their ground during tightly contested matches.

These experiences will undoubtedly prove invaluable as the Seasiders continue their pre-season preparations.
