North Somerset Athletics Club had a busy Tuesday night in Exeter last week as 15 athletes competed across two competitions and recorded 23 new personal bests.
The two events were the Exeter Harriers Open Meet and the British Miler’s Club Regional meet, both of which were held in Exeter.
The Miler’s Club meet saw North Somerset athletes aged between 15 and 17 compete across 800m and 1500m.
In the 800m u17 Elliot Jeston ran a SB time of 2:09.78s to win his race whilst u15 Ewan Hussey ran 2:24.54s for a PB.
In the 1500m u20 Sam Holloway and u17 Ben Collins both went close to breaking the four-minute mark whilst Stan Barker, Joe Sandiford, Kyle Burford, and Alex Rice all recorded PBs.
Ellie Wallace also ran an impressive SB in the 1500m.
In the Harriers Open Meet North Somerset were represented by six u11 boys.
Oscar Rowan won his 75m race with an impressive time of 11.19s whilst Jonah Vanderplank also won his heat with a time of 12.77s.
Riley Adams, Quinn Troller, Sebastian Baker, and Quinn Bailey also performed well on the day, breaking PBs and SBs, which was particularly impressive when competing in technical events like the 60m hurdles.
