Portishead Town FC announced the signings of two new players this weekend as they look to bolster the squad following their promotion in the Jewson’s Western League Premier Division.
Callum Dunn and Hamish Hurst have both joined from neighbours Nailsea and Tickenham FC.
Defender Hurst is returning to Portishead after spending one year at Nailsea where he captained the side whilst midfielder Dunn spent two years at the Nailsea based side, scoring 16 goals in 38 league appearances last season.
The returning Hurst said: “I’m delighted to be back at Portishead.
“The club has grown massively in the last year, and I can’t wait to be back playing in front of a packed Bristol Road in front of my hometown.”
Manager Kye Mountford, who recently picked up the Western League First Division manager of the year award, also spoke about Hurst’s return.
He said: “It’s great to have Hamish back where he belongs, in the black and white of Portishead FC!
“He’s a great lad and a leader on and off the pitch.
“Hamish can see what we are doing here as a club and turned down a lot of better offers, financially, to come back home.”
