A strong Cleeve CC 2nd team made short work of Bedminster’s 5th XI to win by eight wickets as Tom Baughan ripped through the Bedminster batting line up, securing five wickets for just 10 runs.
Cleeve elected to chase and James Boulton, 2-16 from seven overs, bowling in conjunction with Tom Baughan, put the early screws on runs.
Baughan secured the first three wickets, first removing Bedminster openers Pattison and Pullin via Jack Chatfield catches and then bowling Seevaratanam to put the home team at 17-3.
Four wickets then fell for just one run as Ben Pinkney ran out Butt, James Boulton secured a brace, and Baughan castled Chritchlow and Bray to end his eight over spell with a fifer.
Cam Elswood and Jack Chatfield both took a wicket apiece to make Bedminster all out for just 59 at the start of the 22nd over.
With 41 on the board, George Parsons departed for nine and Will Grubb was bowled for two before Dan Jones blasted the ball far and wide to end 46 not out from 27 balls.
Pinkney added four runs not out as Cleeve won by eight wickets after just 6.2 overs to firmly top the league as the only unbeaten side.
