Cleeve’s 1st XI headed into Saturday's home fixture against Frenchay with confidence after Wednesday evenings cup win, but they suffered a 174 run loss.
Frenchay made a strong start after Cleeve skipper Sam Williams chose to field first, and openers Donaldson and Bibby built a partnership of 139 until Bibby was run out by Williams on 49.
The incoming Madushan lasted two balls, caught off the bowling of Williams for four.
Donaldson was the next to fall for Frenchay for a patient 90, bowled by Connor Hance.
Frenchay reached 262/3 with Yousaf on 48 and Issit on 40 when the heavens opened, ending the innings after 44.1 overs.
With a now wet pitch Cleeve had a DLS adjusted target of 267 from 44 overs, and their luck got worse when opener Williams was judged LBW for a duck.
Mitch Want, Ben Pinkney and James Ball were quickly caught out to leave Cleeve reeling at 21-4.
Jack Spiers and Connor Hance made 11 and 10 respectively, soon followed by Jalal Ahmed, Joe Hance, and Andy Barnsley for single digits, leaving tailenders Sam Jervis and Tom Carpenter with a mammoth task at 58-9.
Jervis was the final wicket to fall, bowled by Krishna for 12, leaving Carpenter 19* and Cleeve's top scorer as they were all out for 88.
Cleeve travel next Saturday to unbeaten Coalpit Heath.
