In the first round of the Somerset Intermediate Cup, 2022 winners Cleeve travelled to Huntspill and District and earned themselves a big nine wicket win.
Huntspill elected to bat first, but opener Lillycroft soon fell to opening bowler Sam Jervis, shortly before Huntspill skipper Randall edged behind to keeper Tom Carpenter, again off Jervis's bowling.
Cam Elswood (1-9) removed opener Osmant on his first ball of a rapid spell, caught in close by captain Sam Williams.
Joe Hance then bowled Hand and found the edge of Jones, to leave Huntspill 49-5.
Counsell and Cole rallied for Huntspill, before Cole was bowled by Williams (1-24), and Counsell caught on 34 by a fine Williams catch off the bowling of Cleeve player-coach Jalal Ahmed (1-19).
Cleeve made short work of the Huntspill tail with two more wickets from Joe Hance (4-11), the first of which a full stretch grab from Elswood, and Carpenters third catch of the evening off Jervis (3-16), leaving Huntspill 104 all out from 19 overs.
Cleeve came out of the traps firing, reaching 51 before Mitch Want was bowled by Lillycroft for 32 runs from just 13 balls.
However the runs didn't stop flowing for Cleeve, with Williams blasting 50 not out from 31 balls, supported by James Ball with 15 not out from 8 balls reaching their target with only 8.4 overs bowled.
Cleeve go through to the second round where they will face off at home against local rivals Claverham.
