Nailsea and Tickenham welcomed Cornish side St Blazey to the Hunter Selection Ground in the final game of the season knowing a win would secure a very respectable 9th position in the Toolstation Western League Premier Division.
The Swags played with confidence from the start, attacking St Blazey at every opportunity.
Lucas Vowles and Luke Osgood looked dangerous up front and the first goal came inside ten minutes when an Osgood throw was headed out to Oscar Collins, the young winger expertly volleyed in from outside the box to make it 1-0.
Ten minutes later St Blazey equalised as the Swags failed to clear inside the box.
Just after the half hour mark it was that man again Collins making it 2-1 after great play from Olly Carter down the right, cutting inside to Vowles who assisted Collins for a right footed finish into the far corner.
The Swags were well on top and made it 3-1, this time top scorer Vowles firing past the helpless St Blazey keeper with ease.
In an entertaining first half, St Blazey pulled another goal back just before half time with a neat finish from just inside the box to make it 3-2 at half time.
Pruett, Ford and Hardidge worked hard in midfield as the Swags looked to increase the lead and although Osgood, Vowles and Hardidge came close, St Blazey were still in the game.
Vowles had a great chance as he rounded the keeper but saw his shot go wide as he stretched off balance.
The hard-working striker then got his reward as he showed his quality to bring the ball down onto his right foot and curl the ball into the far corner to make it 4-2.
The Swags were able to give minutes once again to youngsters Harvey Conroy & Charlie Oates who have both not looked out of place at this level any time they have been called upon during the season.
A deserved win on the final day with joint managers Smith and Steadman happy with further progress especially as it was their sides first season at this level.
The Johnsons Property MOM was Steve Kingdon for another solid display at the back.
Team - Glover, Carter, Collins, Pruett, Hurst, Kingdon, Bishop, Ford, Hardidge, Osgood, Vowles. Subs - Conroy, Cook, Oates, Cummings, Banks.
