Portishead Town FC 7-0 Warminster Town FC
Portishead striker Ethan Feltham scored his ninth hat-trick of the season in a 7-0 win over Warminster Town FC to break his club’s single season goalscoring record.
Feltham scored his 46th, 47th, and 48th goal of the season to break James Clarke’s record from the 2006/07 season and help Portishead reach seventh heaven as they moved into second place with a dominant victory.
After a cagey start, Portishead grabbed the lead after fifteen minutes when Mitch Osmond’s freekick was headed home by Calum Townsend, and just two minutes later they doubled their lead, this time a cross from Townsend was headed home by Callum Eastwood.
It was Feltham’s turn next.
His goal on the half hour mark was his record breaking 46th of the season came after he converted a good ball into the box from close range, and his second of the game came minutes later as full back Josh Honey burst down the right wing and pulled the ball back to the waiting Feltham who slammed home.
Into the second half and Portishead continued where they had left off, Jack Harper drove down the left wing and delivered a cross into the area which Feltham met with his head to complete his hat-trick for the game, and his ninth hat-trick of the season.
At 5-0 up Posset made substitutions to protect some of their players ahead of a busy schedule, but that course of the game did not change.
Portishead got their sixth when left back James Crossley-John was given too much time on the edge of the area and he drove home his first goal of the season, and the scoring was completed late on when Jack Harper delivered a cross to Jack Ball who headed in off the keeper and post.
The 7-0 win means Portishead climb up to second in the table, three points behind league leaders Radstock but with four games in hand.
