Having had a convincing win against Avonmouth when they were a developing side last season, Yatwell travelled in the knowledge that it would be much tougher this time round and so it proved.
What followed was a hard, physical match that saw both teams fiercely contest for the ball from the start to the finish in an absorbing encounter.
Yatwell started really strongly, chasing down the kick-off and putting huge pressure on their hosts who carried into touch.
Three tries from Matt Lane and one from Mo Sayce helped Yatwell to a comfortable 24-0 win at home.
Yatwell’s opening attacking period was as good as any they have put together this season and their defence in the five-meter zone, especially at the end of the first half was outstanding.
Tyler Meekhums had a tremendous game a full-back, the tackling effort of flanker Tyler King amongst many others was huge and fly-half Jimmy Jackson-Patel controlled the game really well especially when exiting the Yatwell red zone.
