Clevedon Town Football Club was the destination for the latest leg of the Toolstation Western League partnership with Mind in Somerset. Western League Podcast presenter, Ian Nockolds, was joined at The Everyone Active Stadium by Alison Baker, Corporate Partnership Co-ordinator at Mind in Somerset.
Alison and Ian met with fans and Club officials to discuss the League’s campaign to promote positive mental wellbeing, across the South West of England, including Bath Mind and Devon Mind charities, which has seen 18 Clubs visited to date.
Ian Nockolds, the Western League Communication Officer said; “This is my first visit to Clevedon Town and I’m totally blown away by how welcoming everyone has been. The fans, players and officials we talk to at every Club have reacted brilliantly to this campaign and really get why we are doing it. Clevedon Town have been wonderfully supportive and I can’t thank them enough
The Clevedon Town matchday programme carried an advertisement promoting the support services offered by Mind in Somerset and the Western League presented changing room posters, promoting the Somerset Mindline, Somerset’s 24-hour mental health helpline. Ian and Alison also conducted a bucket collection with supporters, which raised just under £100.
Clevedon Town Chairman, Paul Davis, said: “The Clevedon Town family support the physical and mental well being of all players, officials and supporters and welcome the additional support Mind in Somerset offers.”
