Firebrands 5th 1-1 Clevedon Hockey Ladies
Clevedon enjoyed the best of the opening exchanges, solid at the back with Lauren Bird, Libby Barzotelli and Becca Harrill any attacks from the home side were brushed away and the visitors moved menacingly forward, Beth Barzotelli always attracting the attention of three Firebrands defenders still found a way through to test the home keeper, Ashlee Cooper and Vicky Ford made their presence felt as Clevedon poured forward.
The home side, however, remained in the game and started to test the Clevedon defence and late in the half they took the lead following a short corner.
After the break Clevedon got back their control, Beth Barzotelli and Maggie King dominated the midfield with Barzotelli running from deep into the heart of the home defence.
From one such attack her shot was saved but fell invitingly for Cooper who made no mistake to grab the equaliser. The visitors had the chances to take the game but Firebrands held firm to share the points.
On Saturday Clevedon entertain Avonmouth, 12.30 start at Clevedon School.
