Portishead Town will be looking to bounce back from Boxing Day's defeat against Cribbs Reserves on their return to Toolstation Western League Division One in this Saturday.
Following their scheduled game at Shirehampton last weekend being postponed, due to a waterlogged pitch, Posset are due to host Longwell Green Sports in their first game of 2024 this weekend.
Portishead sit proudly at the top of the table going into the new year, but their lead has been cut to three points, albeit with games in hand.
The Green lie 13th in the table so Portishead will be confident they can complete the league double over their opponents following their 1-0 win at Shellards Road back in August.
Manager Kye Mountford, however, will demand his players do not underestimate their opponents as they aim to get back on that winning run
“We are really looking forward to get back out there we need to get back to winning ways,” Mountford said.
“Longwell Green will be tough we only beat them 1-0 away in what was a very tight contest.
On doing the double and being top of Division One, Mountford added: “It would be a great achievement as they are a established team in this league.
“It’s another chance for three points, there’s a long way to go yet and lots of games to play.”
