Clevedon boxer Jasmine Poole topped off an excellent year by winning the Winter Box Cup recently.
The tournament, organised by England Boxing, is one of the most prestigious competitions of the year. Poole boxed in the Elite Class A 63kg division fought off strong competition to win on a 4-1 split decision.
In the final Poole came up against Georgia Klein, who was representing Yorkshire Boxing club. Both women started strongly and traded blows during a fast paced first round.
In the second round Poole used her technical skills to outbox her opponent, who had a point deducted for persistent holding.
The third round was all Poole as she dominated her opponent with superior skill and fitness levels and claimed the win.
"I felt really good during the fight, my fitness allowed me to dominate in the latter stages and I am pleased that I managed to work her out," Poole said.
Poole will now take a break over Christmas before heading to Sweden in February to defend her Golden Gloves title.
