Winscombe Seconds and Nailsea Ladies produced a wonderful Derby in the West Women's Brunel Division One with seven goals scored but it was the Combe who edged out their North Somerset rivals by a 4-3 scoreline last Saturday.
Winscombe took an early lead but Nailsea replied after Cath Hole fired the ball into the back of the net to make it 1-1 at half-time.
The second half started with Winscombe applying pressure and regained the lead despite the hard working midfield and great play by Nailsea's Maisy Hole and Gee Corner,
To their credit Nailsea did not give up and kept battling and levelled the scores when Cath Hole passed the ball in from the right to Hannah Lacey, on the left hand post, and she slipped the ball home.
Winscombe came back again with a goal high to the left corner before Nailsea dug deep and it took an inspired solo run by Cath Hole, where she beat the defender and goalkeeper to collect her second goal of the match to level the scores once again.
But a short time later Winscombe took the lead again with a counter attack to give them victory.
