Nailsea Ladies opened their West Women's Brunel Division One season with a 3-1 win at Keynsham last Saturday.
Keynsham started strong and fast, but Nailsea settled quickly and despite several positional changes jelled well. Solid tackling and short passes gave the visitors the upper-hand, Keynsham were quick to counter attack but Zoe Pople and her defence were solid throughout.
Great play from Maisy Hole, in her debut game for the team, kept Nailsea in the attack and always threatened and forced errors in the Keynsham defence.
Nailsea took the lead when Bernie Forge passed into the D where Cath Hole was on hand to slot between the pads of the advancing goalkeeper
The crossbar later denied Forge when she flicked over the keeper ensuring the half ended with the narrow 1-0 margin.
Nailsea dominated the second half extending the lead when Forge scored with a diving shot followed by a second for Cath Hole.
Her powerful shot firmly struck wide pass the stranded goalkeeper, into the corner from a strongly placed pass by Abi Smith.
Keynsham were able to claw one back through Caitlin Buick when Nailsea had a moments disarray when reduced to 10 players, but re-organised quickly to pick up the win
