In the run up to Nailsea Ladies' 100th anniversary, a group of friends, who last played together in 2014, decided to get together on the pitch once again.
Despite a little trepidation, everyone turned out in their various attire. Keen to get in some warm up stick work first, the ladies began to have too much fun and had to be reminded that they needed to get started.
Teams had been selected by names being drawn, all on video, so fairness was observed. The game started and the the competitiveness’ took over and determination dug in between the Whites and Pinks.
There was lots noise, shouting, calling and giggling, several goals, a few miss hits, to everyone’s amusement, but gradually the passing, the accuracy and the legs started working with the Whites 3-2 ahead at half-time.
The break consisted of lots of laughter and chatting, between each other and the band of supporters, made up of friends.
More of the same for the second half, and with lots of noise from the supporters too, the result became secondary and a 4-4 draw was declared when the final whistle was eventually blown.
