Four teams turned out in themed fancy dress for the Nailsea LHC Club Tournament - Après Ski, Ozzies, Nativity and Santas & the Reindeers.
Although a cold frosty morning, it wasn’t long before pieces of fancy dress were shed, either due to overheating or for ease of play. Kim Thomas clung on to her long Santa coat throughout and proved difficult to tackle with it flowing behind her.
Donkey, Katie Matthews, usually contained between the posts, kicked up her heels and flicked her tail revelling in the freedom to canter about the field. The skiers abandoned their skis and their goggles to go off piste.
The Ozzies found difficulty in surfing through their games and felt a little out of tune in our winter weather.
Although games proved fairly evenly matched, the outright winners were team Nativity made up of Mary: Emma Hill, Shepherd: Cath Hole, Sheep: Ella Brierley, Donkey: Katie Matthews, Angels: Ruby Cairns and Ellie Richardson.
Second was Santa and the Reindeer, then Apres Ski and Ozzies.
Costume award went to Ozzie: Lily Bartle-Jenkins.
Lunch followed at The Poacher, where the chilli was a massive hit. Happy Christmas everyone and good luck for the second half of the season.
