Clevedon Athletic Club members head inland for the Longleat 10k race.

WITH other races being cancelled due to the atrocious weather conditions, some Clevedon Athletic Club members headed inland to participate in the Longleat 10k.

First home for the club was Clive Richards in 12th place in 38.57 and picking up first V50. Jody Withyman was next home in 219th (49.09), with Sally Dennis in 275th spot (50:31). Milly Stowell was 575th in a time of 56.52, with Andy Tancock bringing the club home in 942nd place in a time of 1.07.15.

Clevedon members have been supporting the Ashton Court Park Run, a free 5k run.

Andy Shaw is in a strong sixth place in the Gwent cross-country race series. He was 97th overall and 15th in his age group in the latest race at Brecon in a time of 39.45

Clevedon Athletic Club, in conjunction with Clevedon School Sports Centre, is hosting a Sports Relief Mile Race on March 21 at 5pm. This will take place at the school when the one-mile obstacle type race will be a two-lap course within the school grounds.

If you wish to join in with the success of Clevedon Athletic Club, come along to one of its sessions and give it a go.

The club meet at various times for training, including a weekly outdoor (summer) indoor (winter) cross training on a Monday. The weekly Tuesday and Thursday running sessions start at 7pm at Strode Leisure Centre, Clevedon.
