Clevedon Athletic Club runners enjoyed good times at the London Marathon.

Clevedon Athletic Club members finished the London Marathon in creditable times.

First home for the club was Clive Richards in 2.51.46, followed by Ben Burns (3.07.36), Robin Hambley (3.12.13), Baaba Sow (3.12.19), Nick Hides (3.12.54), Mark Templer (3.51.26), Kevin Neads (4.18.34) and Andy King (4.22.57)

Jodie Withyman was forced to pull out due to illness after 25k. Congratulations also go to former Clevedon member Jonathan Williams on a great effort to finish in 3.47.21.

A mention goes to the talented couple Mr and Mrs Kestle, who both train with Clevedon and represented the armed services over the weekend. Ryan ran a fantastic 2.42.49, with Lindsey finishing in a time of 3.19.36.

A special mention to Josh Davis, although he now runs for North Somerset, he finished his first marathon in a fantastic time of 2.33.55. Also, congratulations to NSAC coach, 65-year-old Steve Hollier, finishing in 3.22.25 and a fantastic eighth place in his race category. Last, but no means least, Martin Hewlett finished in 3.06.26 dressed as a spaceman.

If you would like to join in the success of Clevedon Athletic Club then come along to a session.The club hold a circuit session designed for runners every Monday at Clevedon School Sports Centre gym. The running sessions are Tuesdays and Thursdays at the Clevedon School field from 7pm.

A reminder that the Clevedon mid summer 10k will be taking place on June 14, where if a marathon is a little too far, take the plunge and join the club around the quiet lanes of Kingston Seymour, which is a flat route.
