Three open water events are to be held at Clevedon this year during June and July.

Three exciting open water events return to Clevedon again this year – the Clevedon Aquathlon (June 3), Clevedon SwimRun (June 17) and the Clevedon Long Swim (July 1).

Run by volunteers, all money raised is donated to running and maintaining Clevedon Marine Lake, keeping it in good condition for everyone.

The events take place along Clevedon’s beautiful seafront, in the lake and sea, along the promenade and paths over Poets Walk, and include a memorable run along Clevedon’s iconic Grade 1 Victorian Pier.

Clevedon Long Swim has been an annual event since 1928. Starting at picturesque Ladye Bay, it is about a one-mile swim in the River Severn, going under the pier to finish at Clevedon beach. The Long Swim is now full, but there are still spaces on the other events.

Clevedon Aquathlon is a swim round the lake then a run along the promenade with two distances to choose from -novice is 400m swim and 2.5k run or the more taxing sprint distance is a 750k swim and 5k run.

SwimRun is becoming hugely popular with adventure seekers. Clevedon’s course has five run sections, each separated by a swim, the total distance is 6k running and 1.25k swimming, with the longest sections about 1.8k run and 400m swim.

People also have the choice to enter the Aquathlon and SwimRun solo or as a team.

Each event is limited to 100 people and only costs £15 per person per event to enter. Entry is online only via www.Fabian4.co.uk. For more information, email: ClevedonLongSwim@gmail.com
