North Somerset AC's endurance squad continue to compete well at cross-country, track & field and road, with records never far away.

A great team effort at the Cardiff 5k road race saw plenty of personal bests and six club records.

These included Allan Baker, Ellie Wallace, Joe F, Alice BM, Euan Meacock and the highlight of an incredible run by nine-year-old Oliver F.

Baker finished first in 15 minutes and 56 seconds, three seconds ahead of Wallace, as Joe clocked 16.43 and Callum Day finished shortly after in 17.13.

Jacob F finished in 17.58, one second clear of Russell Forsbrook, who was one second ahead of Alice.

Oliver came home in 18.17, one second ahead of Logan Harvey, as Nick P finished in 19.05, Meacock in 19.30 and Jude Wait in 19.40.

In the Somerset Combined Events meet at Yeovil both Holly B and Conor H finished in the top 10.

Athletes from across the UK travel to this high level event and Holly finished fifth in the under-15 Pentathlon with a personal best 2,315 points.

The high-flying teenager ran a personal best 13.33 in the 75m hurdles, then threw 9.32m in the shot put and cleared 1.34m in the high jump.

After a 4.27m long jump, Holly ended with another personal best of 2.49 in the 800m.

Connor was a respectable ninth in the under-17 Octathlon and, like Holly, secured a personal best total with 3,786 points.

He had personal bests in all but one of the events, with 5.65m in the long jump, 24.93m in the discus, 30.44m in the javelin and 56.13 in the 400m hurdles.

He clocked 16.30 in the 100m, cleared 1.68m in the high jump and threw 9.23m in the shot, before clocking 5.06.80 in the closing 1,500m.

North Somerset AC had another successful evening at Millfield with 16 personal bests and an incredible new club record.

Martha H beat the under-13 girls' 100m record, set by Welsh international and English Schools' finalist Bethan W in 2007.

Martha is now ranked number two in the UK, and number one in England, with her time of 13 seconds.
