AN ORGANISATION in North Somerset is looking to recruit volunteers to help with its community-focused projects.

The Rotary Club of Nailsea and Backwell (RNB) offers opportunities to get involved in events such as charity walks, book sales, and other fundraising activities that benefit both local and international causes.

It is part of Rotary International, a service organisation which helps bring people together to carry out charitable work.

According to its website, the organisation’s mission is to "provide service to others, promote integrity, and advance world understanding, goodwill, and peace through [the] fellowship of business, professional, and community leaders".

The Nailsea and Backwell branch had had a very successful recruitment drive at the recent Volunteers Fair organised by Nailsea Town Council in September and recruited seven potential new members at the event but is looking for even more members.

Volunteers of all ages are welcome, and you don’t need to be a full member to contribute to their initiatives.

Ken Rock, RNB President, said: “Thank you to Nailsea Town Council for the recent Volunteers Fair which was very successful for the RNB.

“We are always looking for volunteers to help us in our many activities such as assisting at the Nailsea Foodbank Drive Day at Waitrose on Saturday, 30 November.

“Please do not hesitate to contact us if you would like to be involved, it’s so rewarding to give back to the community when you volunteer and it’s also a great way to meet new friends and attend great events”
