TWO people have appeared in court after they were charged following multiple burglaries that took place in Bristol and Somerset last week and an incident in Nailsea last year.
Caleb Hughes, 63, and Debbie Hughes, 37, both from Frome, were each charged with three counts of burglary – in connection with the incidents last week in Chard and Bristol and the Nailsea burglary last year.
The duo were also both charged with possession of criminal property.
During the burglaries, victims' personal items such as bags, purses, and credit cards were taken from their homes and used to make payments without their consent; for example, the Chard victim's card was used in a supermarket.
The duo appeared before Yeovil Magistrates Court November 12, where no pleas were entered.
They will be granted conditional bail to appear at Taunton Crown Court Monday, December 16.
They were both arrested during the morning of Monday, November 11.
