Clevedon Community Press is set to publish two new poetry collections.
The small independent press, part of Clevedon’s Community Bookshop Co-operative, will release "Tidelines: A Year of the Coast" and "Small Waves, Strong Currents" on November 29.
Both collections are the work of Clevedon writers who are active in North Somerset’s writing communities.
In "Tidelines," Jenny Bradley combines her passion for writing with a desire to protect the environment.
Her coastal poems and prose, inspired by lockdown walks, reflect the comfort and joy she found in nature's continuity, rhythms, and beauty.
In "Small Waves, Strong Currents," Andrew Player offers poems inspired by man’s place in the natural world and the emotions it stirs.
The powerful rhythms of the sea and the natural cycles of the earth and of life find expression in poems of life and death, of loss and love, of time and of memory.
Both authors are previously published both in print and online, have had work broadcast by the BBC, and have featured at open mic and other literary events and festivals.
A spokesperson for Clevedon Community Press said: "The chair of the Bookshop Co-operative says that it is ‘proud to publish these two very accomplished writers through our Community Press and to have played our part in sharing their inspiring and moving writing’."
"Tidelines" and "Small Waves, Strong Currents" will be available for purchase at £8 each from the Community Bookshop on Copse Road, Clevedon, online through the Co-operative’s internet shop, and through other retail outlets in Clevedon that stock the publications of the Community Press: Books on the Hill, the Stationery House, and the Pier Shop.
