A much-loved Gloucester Road pub, The Anchor, has announced that it will be giving away free pints to Bristol Rovers fans this Saturday ahead of the big match vs Lincoln City.
Situated next to the Bristol Rovers football ground, the former common room site resides as a treasured spot for fans of the pirates as well as for Gloucestershire cricket fans, with the sports bar being one of the best places for watching live sport in Bristol.
Recently reopening after a six-figure refurbishment, the pub will be offering all football fans a pint of Thatchers Gold, Haze or Blood Orange on the house.
All fans have to do is sign up to the database by Friday, November 8, at 4pm and then head to the Anchor on matchday to redeem their free pint of Thatchers - it’s that simple!
Aside from free pints for Rovers’ fans, the pub will also be hosting a special Q&A evening with former Bristol Rovers captain Lee Mansell on Tuesday, November, 19, 10 years on from that famous day at Wembley when Mansell scored the winning penalty to take the pirates to the football league, beating Grimsby Town.
The interview will be hosted by former Bristol Rovers player and BBC Bristol Sport radio presenter Geoff Twentyman, offering fans an evening filled with laughter, stories, and nostalgia as they reflect on Mansell’s career and one of the most iconic days in Bristol football history. Boasting one of the best outdoor drinking experiences in Bristol, The Anchor also has two huge front and back beer gardens, both equipped with HD TVs to watch all the live sport.
Apart from free pints this weekend, the pub features an impressive lineup of student deals, making it the best student night spot in the city.
Highlights include £2.50 pints and £4.50 double and mixer deals on Fridays, plus a generous £8.00 lunch offer from 12-4pm on weekdays. Other activities and

“Make sure to sign up to the webpage and speak to a friendly member of staff to claim your free drink.
"We also can’t wait to host Rovers’ legend Lee Mansell here on Tuesday, November, 19, for what promises to be an unforgettable evening reflecting on a remarkable day at Wembley.
“We all remember where we were when that penalty went in and I know Lee can’t wait to meet everyone and will even be bringing along the match ball from the play-off final. Tickets are on sale now and we’re expecting them to sell out quickly so ensure you act fast!”
