Care home residents at Cadbury Hall in Yatton were treated to a sound bath experience.
The session was organised by home services advisor, Angela Grace, who found sound baths beneficial during challenging periods in her life.
Sound baths have been proven to help with medical conditions such as stress and anxiety, as well as pain relief.
The vibrations from the instruments can influence brain patterns, aiding relaxation.
The tuning forks provided a tingling experience and helped to calm the nervous system.
The frequencies can assist in healing the body and mind, relieving pain and stress, and aiding in the regeneration of tissues and organs.
Residents were immersed in an afternoon of relaxing sound therapy.
They had many questions about the science behind the gongs, crystals, bowls, and other instruments, including how the gongs were made and why they possess healing properties.
General manager, Audrene Abrigo, said: "Our residents were fascinated by the sound bath experience, many of them had never heard of it before but they were all intrigued and wanted to find out more.
"Everyone found it a very relaxing experience and enjoyed trying something new.
"We’re very grateful to Angela and Eva for arranging this enlightening activity for us."
