PERSIMMON Homes Severn Valley has donated £1,000 to football club St George Easton in Gordano FC as part of its Community Champions initiative.

The five-star housebuilder’s donation will support the club’s multiple teams and kit, along with Persimmon’s visible presence around the club’s Court Hay Football Pitch.

Located a short drive from Persimmon Severn Valley’s headquarters in Portishead, St George Easton in Gordano FC is a football club with three men’s Saturday teams competing in the Somerset County and Weston Leagues, as well as a Sunday Vets team.

Persimmon Homes Severn Valley’s Community Champions scheme donates £24,000 each year to various community organisations and good causes in the areas where it develops.

Persimmon’s donation is a major boost for the football club, which has been supporting the development of local footballers for more than 100 years.

Alfie Tricks, treasurer at St George Easton in Gordano FC, thanked Persimmon for the donation, and said: “We’re incredibly grateful to Persimmon Homes for their generous support.

“This donation will make a huge difference to our club, helping us continue to provide a positive environment for footballers of all ages.

“It’s fantastic to see a company like Persimmon investing in the future of grassroots football and the wider community."

Carly Spear, sales director at Persimmon Homes Severn Valley, said: "We are thrilled to announce our new sponsorship of St George Easton in Gordano FC, a club that plays a vital role in supporting people across the community.

“Our Community Champions scheme is all about giving back to the areas where we operate, and as a prominent housebuilder in the area, we are committed to leaving a positive legacy for local communities."
