NAILSEA in Bloom volunteers are asking for help from the public in sponsoring a poppy.
For just £5 you can sponsor a poppy with all donations going to the Royal British Legion and remember up to four loved ones for each poppy. This is not just for military remembrance.
The Nailsea in Bloom volunteers will be running stalls at the Nailsea Farmers Market on Saturday, October 19 in Nailsea and by the Nailsea Village Green on October 26.
At the stalls you can make payments by cash or cheque, with cheques made out to ‘Royal British Legion’.
If you can’t make these dates you can also make payments and sponsor a Poppy, at The Tithe Barn, Church Lane, Nailsea, BS48 4NG or at 65 High Street.
You can also email Wendy Mobbs on wenmick@icloud.com
The Poppies will be displayed at the flower beds located outside Iceland, at the Garden at Rest, by the Fire station and Scout hut on Clevedon Road, a flower bed at the corner of Pound Lane and opposite Tesco.
When sponsoring a Poppy, you can stipulate which bed you would prefer the Poppy to be placed if you wish.
These beds will be made up with the poppies from October 28 and the display will continue for a month until week of the November 18.
Wendy Mobbs, who has been a member of Nailsea in Bloom for over 10 years, said: “We look forward to your continued support as every year you generously help our fund-raising campaign for the Royal British Legion.
“In the last five years Nailsea ion Bloom has raised over £5000 and we hope this year will be our best ever.
“Without your support this is not possible. It’s a great opportunity for you to remember your loved ones whilst also supporting a great cause.”
