Members of the Portishead Probus Club will gather for their monthly meeting.
This will take place at Clarence House on Wednesday, October 16.
It starts at 12 noon when members meet informally in the bar until 1pm when a lunch will be served in the spacious function room.
A full roast beef lunch will be served up to members at Wednesday's meeting, followed by a pudding.
The cost to each member is £23.
After lunch, Garry Gowans will address the meeting on the historic events surrounding D-Day and the significance of the Reichstag Forest, which has become a popular place to visit in Germany.
Membership is open to people with a business or professional background, whether retired or approaching retirement, with annual membership costing £20.
Prospective members who wish to visit the Probus Club and meet members can contact the club secretary, Brian Lazenby, on 07711 385825 or email brianlazenby@btinternet.com.
