THE Creation Station, a new space offering creative workshops for all ages and abilities, has launched in Portishead - brought to the community by local parent Amy Cox.

Amy expressed her excitement for the project, saying: “I love that I have the opportunity to bring specially designed art and crafts activities to Portishead, that will hopefully spark an enthusiasm and excitement to encourage others to find their creative, and unique side whilst having fun and getting to socialise.”

The Creation Station offers creative workshops for all ages and abilities, starting small with their “tiny treasures” keepsakes and bonding sessions for new-borns up to five-year-olds.

Amy said: “To keep the memories going as your babies get older, we offer sessions that grow with them at our Baby Discovery and Little Explorers at The Portishead Methodist Hall. These give your child the opportunity to discover and play with textures and colour using their senses. Creative play with your baby provides them with a strong foundation, develops bonding and helps your baby discover their world and much, much more.

“As your child gets older it is great to have the chance to encourage their natural spark of curiosity and to develop their own journey of exploration and discovery through the world of art.”

The Creation Station also offers Family Fun sessions, where parents can spend time creating with children up to 11 years old on the weekend and during the school holidays with themed sessions - including a collaboration with the Doodlebug Village.

Amy also said: “Children love to create and are lucky enough to be wildly imaginative and unique already, however as adults we sometimes forget the fun and creative side we may have. Which is why we also have our art workshops for adults.

“Art has no limits on age and ability so adults can now enjoy and benefit from a wide range of hands-on art and craft activities, including Care and create, Paint and sip, Creative Crafters.”

The adult workshops aim to be casual sessions that blend creativity art and socialisation, which "helps to reduce stress and promote mindfulness".

They can be carried out as a creative get together, adult craft activities suitable for hen parties, team building events or simply a social afternoon or evening activity.

Adult sessions can even be enjoyed at local restaurants and bars including The Poacher, The Old Mill and The Port.

The Creative Station Portishead, through their sessions catering for all ages, supports charities and local community events including Portishead Community Market, The Little People UK carnival event and Christmas/summer fayres at local schools.

Sarah Cressall OBE, founder and CEO of The Creation Station, remarked: "Creativity is a force for good, and I am delighted that we are able to brings educational and entertaining creative experiences to the local community in Portishead."
