A BANKING group is offering help to the Nailsea community by working in foodbanks, schools, and other organisations promoting worthy causes.

Lloyds Banking Group has a commitment to Help Britain Prosper, and to this end every team within the entire organisation gets a ‘Day to make a difference’ or DTMAD – where the teams provide their time and labour to help out in local communities.

Previous DTMAD have included working in foodbanks, painting schools, tree planting and other worthy causes.

Outside of his role as a Nailsea Town Councillor, James Turner is a member of the Lloyds Banking Group, Private Banking Relationship Management Team.

He and 11 others from the same Bristol team gave up their day to weeding and litter picking in Nailsea.

Following instructions from Trudy Hollow, Manager of No 65, their aim was to get done as many jobs that they could do to improve the look and feel of No 65 and its environment without costing the council and staff time or money.

The team were very busy clearing weeds and litter from Millennium Park, removing the leaves from Scotch Horn, and weeding the High Street and alleyway by ‘The original Factory Shop’.

If your organisation would like to do something similar for Nailsea contact Nailsea Town Council and they will take your details.

James Turner said: “The Bristol Private Banking Relationship team had a great day.

“The weather stayed fine and we worked really hard to tidy up areas of Nailsea that were beginning to look a little scruffy.

“I can definitely recommend the ‘Day to make a difference’ concept to other organisations.”
