THE Campaign for Real Ale’s (CAMRA) Good Beer Guide has been announced for 2025, and here are ten of North Somerset's pubs that have made the list.
It was a strong year for Somerset and North Somerset pubs with 102 listed in the guide, including three Portishead pubs and five in Weston-super-Mare.
The Campaign for Real Ale’s Good Beer Guide – the UK’s best-selling beer and pub guide – lists 4,500 of the best pubs across the UK and is the definitive beer drinker’s guide for those seeking the best pints in the nations’ pubs. It is on sale now on CAMRA's website.
Ten North Somerset pubs listed in CAMRA's Good Beer Guide:
1. Black Cat, High Street, Weston-super-Mare
A micropub with four changing beers, including Cheddar Ales, Glastonbury, and Verdant.
2. Brit Bar, High Street, Weston-super-Mare
This town centre pub has five changing beers, including Bristol Beer Factory, New Bristol, and Quantock.
3. Duke of Oxford, Oxford Street, Weston-super-Mare
This pub reopened in 2016 and has four locally sourced changing beers.
4. Fallen Tree Micropub, Hill Road, Clevedon
This micropub has six changing beers which are sourced locally, including Cheddar Ales, Frome, and Twisted Oak.
5. Old Inn, Walton Road, Clevedon
This pub dates back to 1754 and has two changing beers.
6. Nailsea MicroPub, High Street, Nailsea
A micropub with three locally sourced changing beers.
7. Ship, Down Road, Portishead
The landlord built the pub in 1973 and has been in charge ever since. It serves Draught Bass, Otter Bitter, and Sharp’s Doom Bar.
8. Angel Inn, Long Ashton Road, Long Ashton
This 15th-century inn has one changing beer and serves draught Bass, Otter Bitter, St Austell Tribute, and Sharp’s Doom Bar.
9. The Plough, High Street, Congresbury
Serving three locally sourced changing beers, including Cheddar Ales, Nuttycombe, and Twisted Oak.
10. Siren’s Calling, Newfoundland Way, Portishead Marina
Four locally sourced changing beers, including Bristol Beer Factory.
