NEVER mind managing without pensioner winter heating allowances, whether Prince Harry should be allowed back into the royal household or whether Portishead has a climate emergency declaration to solve (all diversionary news stories as far as I’m concerned).
What about this?
North Somerset Council may have worries (about balancing their books), but whilst we are occupied by the news stories are put out by the media, it occurred to me that we’d all have a much bigger problem to solve if Russia attacked us; after we’d provoked them in support of Ukraine, by training their forces, supplying them weapons and other funding to further the current western backed conflict inside Russia itself now.
So, it seems a prudent question to ask: “What happens to all our usual expense payments during a war, if it eventually breaks out?”
Not a nice thought, but let’s be realistic, the way those handling global policy are acting, can we really have confidence that Russia and China won’t be provoked enough for a war to break out involving us?
Perhaps we should ask North Somerset Council (all worldly wise on climate change emergency, pandemic preparedness and net Zero by 2050); “What would the plan be for government to cover local council and household payments, whilst our youngest and fittest tax payers are sent to war?”
They talk about ‘resilience planning’. So let’s have some answers council members; so that we can get ourselves sufficient capital reserves ready to cope, with all our expenses during a war.
