A NEW play area part of a planning permission for a housing development has been officially opened in Nailsea.
Cllr James Tonkin, Chair and Cllr Ben Kushner of Nailsea Town Council attended the official opening and celebration event for the Netherton Grange play area on Saturday, September 7.
The play area was built and paid for by Taylor Wimpey, the site developers, as part of the planning permission for the housing development.
The event was organised by Trevor Dean, associate minister of Holy Trinity Church Nailsea and an enthusiastic team of church members.
James addressed the gathering of residents present, and arranged the cutting of the tape by two children Solin and Alexa, to declare the playground open.
The event was very well attended and luckily the rain held off.
Cllr James Tonkin, chair of Nailsea Town Council, said: “Thank you to Rev Dr Trevor Dean and Holy Trinity Church for organising this event, postponed from Easter Saturday.
“The brilliant display of play equipment at Netherton Grange, is an essential part of modern day living, with new families arriving in the area.
“The town council fully endorses Taylor Wimpey’s initiative in this regard. I hope that this generation and future generations of children enjoy the facility to its full potential.”
