Nailsea Town Council is collaborating with a number of healthcare teams and volunteers to offer support for those concerned about the risk of falling.
Falls can significantly impact lives by limiting mobility, restricting activities, and affecting independent living.
To address this, a free drop-in session is scheduled for September 23 at Nailsea Baptist Church.
This event will run from 11am to 3pm, welcoming residents who wish to learn how to minimise their risk of falling.
The session will feature experts providing blood pressure checks, medication advice, equipment demonstrations, and information on local support.
Attendees will also receive a free raffle entry ticket and a goody bag.
Jo Duffy, Nailsea Town Council’s clerk, said: "Nailsea Town Council is committed to enhancing the quality of life for residents by raising awareness about health and wellbeing issues.
"We hope that community events such as this will have a real impact on reducing social isolation and breaking down the barriers to mobility."
For those concerned about transportation, a free transport service is available by calling 07939 957995.
This initiative is part of the council's ongoing commitment to improving the wellbeing of residents and reducing the risk of falls.
