NIGHT-TIME closures are being planned on the A370 while works to improve traffic flow and reduce congestion continue.

Road works will prompt three nights of closures starting from Tuesday, September 10 on the A370, Bristol Road, at Smallway and Rhodyate Hill, and part of Wrington Road.

A spokesperson for North Somerset Council said: “Works are under way at the A370 Wood Hill junction as part of a scheme to improve traffic flow and reduce congestion in the long term.

“There’ll be three nights of road closures next week, starting from Tuesday, September 10.

“The A370 Bristol Road at Smallway and Rhodyate Hill, and part of Wrington Road, will be closed from 8pm to 6am each night, with a signed diversion in place.

“The roads will be open outside of these hours.

“The closure is for temporary surfacing works to take place so we can remove the current three-way traffic lights and open narrow lanes for traffic, while still continuing to work on site for the rest of the Wood Hill junction works.

“These lanes will stay in place until the main Wood Hill junction works have ended and means traffic will be able to flow more freely in both directions along the A370 and Wrington Road.

“First West of England bus services X1 and A3 will be impacted while the overnight closures are in place - check the comments to find out more.
