A LEARNING trust has been celebrating an “exceptional set of GCSE results” at three schools.

Following last week’s successful sixth form results day, yesterday (August 22) it was the turn of Year 11 learners from across Crispin School, the Kings Academy, and Nailsea School to collect and celebrate an exceptional set of results.

A spokesperson for the trust said: "The strength of this set of results can be seen in headline figures such as the 49 per cent of young people who achieved 5+ in both English and Maths GCSE, and the 11 per cent who achieved 7+ in both subjects across the Trust, with 21 per cent of all grades across the Trust being of at least a grade 7 or equivalent.

"Additionally, some of the highest performing results included students such as Edith and James from Nailsea School who achieved four grade 9s, three grade 8s and a Distinction* in Health and Social Care, and six grade 9s, two grade 8s and a Distinction* in Enterprise and Marketing, respectively.

"Other success stories include Kings students Ryan, who earnt eleven grade 9s (one for every qualification he completed), and Isabelle who collected seven grade 9s, two grade 8s, and three grade 7s.

"Meanwhile, over at Crispin Alice was awarded nine grade 9s and one grade 8, and many others achieved exceptional sets of results.

"These outcomes are testament to the hard work and commitment of all our young people and staff, and also demonstrates the high standards of provision provided by Wessex Learning Trust schools."

Trust chief executive, Gavin Ball, commented on the results: “Congratulations to all our learners receiving their results today.

“You are right to feel proud of your incredible achievements. I wish you all every success with your next steps and look forward to hearing about what you go on to do in the future.”

Many of the learners receiving results today will continue their studies at one of our exceptional sixth form centres in September.

Both Kings of Wessex and Nailsea Sixth Forms offer A-level and vocational courses, a high-quality future pathways curriculum and an extensive personal development programme including opportunities to volunteer, gain work experience and take on student leadership roles.
