Noah’s Ark Zoo Farm has announced the arrival of two baby chocolate skunks this week and the adorable newcomers have the names to match their charming faces.
The skunks are lovingly named Drax and Quill, references to characters from Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy franchise, and join their squad mates Rocket and Groot who already live at the North Somerset based zoo.
It means that only one more member is needed to complete the famous Marvel fireteam so if anyone has a skunk called Gamora, the team at Noah’s Ark would love to hear from you!
Hannah, a primate and small mammal keeper at the zoo, spoke after the arrival of the Guardians.
She said: “The newest members of our skunk group are brothers, Drax and Quill. They are the cousins of Rocket and Groot (our existing skunks).
“Drax and Quill are 10 weeks old and weigh just under a kilo. Quill is a bit bigger and lighter in colour than Drax but they have very similar markings.
“Drax and Quill are chocolate skunks, this means they are browner in colour comparatively to Rocket and Groot who are your typical black and white striped skunks.”
Hannah continued: “They are both very inquisitive so we’re excited to move them into their new home.
“We will introduce the four of them gradually and have every hope they will get on well.”
