A DRIVER who used the hard shoulder on the M5 near Clevedon as “waiting in queuing traffic was not for them” has been disqualified for six months.

Police said they gathered evidence from a dashcam footage, and the driver was fined and disqualified.

A spokesperson for Avon and Somerset Police said: “This driver decided that waiting in queuing traffic on the M5 near Clevedon was not for them so used the hard shoulder instead.

"However, evidence from this dashcam resulted in a court appearance and: £166 fine, £400 costs, £66 VS, disqualified six months (due to previous offences)."
