A RESIDENT at Cadbury Hall in Yatton wanted to return to the stables and work with horses - so her dream was made a reality.

Since moving into the care home a few months ago, June Parker has captivated everyone with her passion for equestrian-related activities.

Staff got wind of her dream and henceforth committed to making it a reality.

They were more excited about witnessing Ms Parker's satisfaction when her dream came true.

To share in this extraordinary experience, fellow residents joined her..

Ms Parker said: "I was on the verge of tears.

"It is such an amazing feeling to know that such a loving group of people care so much about me that they helped me to live out a dream before I lost my sight - and I didn't even ask."

"We want everyone we care for to know how important they are to us here at Cadbury Hall.

"It is testament to the hard work and dedication of the team here in making our residents’ dreams come true.

"It was wonderful to see how happy June was - and the staff loved being a part of this as well."

Efforts to make Ms Parker's wish come true was also supported by Claverham and Winford RDA and their amazing volunteers.
