PORTISHEAD Town Council have issued an “important clarification” about parking charges.
The local authority said they “are unanimous in strongly objecting to the imposition of parking charges on our High Street and Lake Grounds Park”.
The full message from the town council read: “We have noticed some confusion regarding our recent communication about parking charges.
“To clarify, when we referred to ‘High Street Parking’ in our letter to North Somerset Council, this included both the actual High Street and the Roath Road Car Park.
“The opening paragraph read: ‘Portishead Town Council are unanimous in strongly objecting to the imposition of parking charges on our High Street and Lake Grounds Park’.
“While it seemed clear to us, we understand that some of you may have had questions.
“We do specify later in the letter (and in appendix 1) that Roath Road parking is included in our concerns about the High Street.
“We appreciate your feedback and have notified North Somerset Council (NSC) to avoid any further confusion.
“If you have any more questions, please feel free to contact us.
“Thank you for your understanding and continued support.”
